The air inlet and air outlet of the underground building of a pumped storage power station are located at the entrance of the ventilation and safety hole. When the ventilation volume is large, the design scheme that only meets the minimum requirements of the specification “the air outlet should be higher than the air inlet and should not be less than 6 m” cannot necessarily avoid the short circuit of the inlet and exhaust air flow. The study shows that in the design of fan room at the entrance of ventilation hole, when the side exhaust mode is used, the air outlet angle of the exhaust air has a great influence on the air quality of the inlet air flow, so the outlet with the form of inclined downward air should be avoided as far as possible. Compared with the side exhaust mode, the top exhaust mode has significant advantages in preventing the interference of inlet and exhaust air flow.
